What Notices mean on NextShopper
Notices are account alerts that need your action. They highlight unpaid invoices, domains expiring soon, and registrant email (FOA) confirmations. The goal is simple: show risk early so a missed invoice or unanswered FOA does not interrupt a live domain or service.
Notices complement the Home “Needs attention” area. Clearing the underlying issue clears the notice.
Who this guide is for
- Domain owners watching renewals
- Anyone who received an FOA email and also sees a portal prompt
- Billing contacts who track unpaid balances
Before you start
- Sign in to the client portal.
- Know how to open Invoices, Domains, and your email inbox.
- For FOA items, have access to the registrant email on the domain contacts—not only the account login email if they differ.
Notice types (exact labels)
| Notice | Meaning | Typical next step |
|---|---|---|
| Unpaid invoice | Balance due | Open invoice → Pay now |
| Expiring soon | Domain nearing expiry | Open domain → Renew 1 year or enable Auto-renew |
| Confirm registrant email | FOA pending | Complete the email link; see FOA guide |
Empty state copy: Nothing needs attention.
Step-by-step: work through Notices
- Open Notices from the portal chrome (or act from the same items on Home).
- For each Unpaid invoice, open it and complete payment—see How to find and pay an invoice.
- For Expiring soon, open the domain. Confirm the Expires date, then renew or turn Auto-renew On—see How to renew a domain and manage auto-renew.
- For Confirm registrant email, open the FOA message in the registrant inbox and finish confirmation—see How to confirm the registrant email (FOA). You can also open the domain page if a pending FOA banner appears there.
- Refresh Notices. Resolved items should disappear.
What happens next / how to verify success
- Notices list shows Nothing needs attention. (or only unrelated future items).
- Home attention counts drop accordingly.
- Domains remain active; invoices show Paid.
Ignoring notices can lead to suspension after FOA windows, domain expiry, or hosting suspension for non-payment.
Common problems
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Paid but unpaid notice remains | Refresh; wait briefly for status update; confirm correct account |
| Expiring notice after renew | Check domain Expires date; propagation of status can lag slightly |
| FOA notice but no email | Check spam; resend/support if needed; confirm contact email on domain |
| Notice for unfamiliar domain | Verify account email; you may have multiple logins |
| Empty Notices but Home still warns | Complete email verification or 2FA nudges—those can be Home-only |
Frequently asked questions
Are Notices emailed as well?
Related emails (invoices, FOA, renewals) may arrive separately. Notices are the in-portal checklist.
Can I dismiss a notice without fixing it?
Notices clear when the condition clears. Paying, renewing, or confirming FOA is the fix.
Do hosting renewals appear here?
Expiring domain notices are explicit. Hosting renew dates appear on the Hosting service page—renew before suspension risk.
Is WHOIS privacy a Notice?
No. Privacy is managed under domain Lock & transfer.
