How domain search and registration work
Registering a domain on NextShopper starts on the public storefront: you search live availability, add an available name to the Cart, complete Checkout, and then manage the name under portal Domains. Pricing for register, renew, transfer, and restore is published by TLD; some extensions use a manual fulfillment path that the search result discloses before you pay.
This guide covers a clean registration from search through the first portal checks (DNS, contacts, FOA).
Who this guide is for
- First-time domain buyers
- Brands comparing TLD fees before committing
- Customers adding another name to an existing account
Before you start
- Have a NextShopper account ready (create / sign in).
- Choose BDT or USD in the header before searching if you care about displayed prices.
- Decide the exact string (with or without extension). Searching
acmechecks popular TLDs;acme.comtargets one. - Prepare accurate registrant contact details—they appear at checkout and on the domain later.
Step-by-step: search and add to cart
- Open Domains or use homepage search.
- Enter the name in the search field (placeholder examples like
acmeoracme.com). - Select Search (bulk search is available when you need multiple lines).
- Read each row: Available, Taken, Unavailable, or manual review notes.
- On an available name, select Add. Wait for Added / cart confirmation (… is in your cart.).
- Optionally continue shopping for hosting or email, then open Cart.
- Review the order summary; remove mistakes; apply a Coupon if you have one.
- Select Continue to checkout.
Step-by-step: checkout and pay
- On Checkout, complete Account & registrant fields.
- Accept required agreements (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Domain Registration Agreement / fees where shown).
- Choose a payment method and finish payment.
- Keep the invoice number from Invoices for your records.
After payment: first portal steps
- Open Domains under My products.
- Open the new FQDN.
- Review Nameservers, open DNS records if you will host DNS here, and set Contacts if you need corrections.
- Check Lock & transfer (EPP lock, WHOIS privacy, auth code).
- Watch email for FOA if required—unverified names can be suspended after the FOA window.
What happens next / how to verify success
- Domain appears in the portal list with an Expires date.
- Invoice is Paid (or awaiting bank confirmation).
- You can open DNS and security panels without errors.
- FOA notice clears after confirmation when applicable.
Common problems
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Name taken | Try another TLD or a variant spelling |
| Manual TLD | Expect staff review; do not assume instant go-live |
| Add fails | Sign in, retry; confirm the TLD is sold |
| Paid but domain missing | Confirm login email; check invoice line items; wait briefly for provision |
| Wrong contact on file | Update from domain Contacts—see contacts guide |
Frequently asked questions
Is privacy included?
When the TLD supports it, privacy can be added at checkout or toggled later under WHOIS privacy.
Can I register without hosting?
Yes. Point DNS when you are ready—see How to point a domain to NextShopper hosting.
What is the difference between Search and Transfer in?
Search registers a new available name. Transfer moves an existing registration—see How to transfer a domain into NextShopper.
